BREAKTHROUGH OF THE WEEK

A NEW study suggests women who were abused in their childhood are more likely to have autistic children. Published in the journal Jama Psychiatry, the study surveyed more than 50000 women and suggests abuse could cause biological changes in a girl child, therefore affecting her future foetus's development.

NUTRITION BITE

According to the British Journal of General Practice, low-calorie liquid diets can reverse type 2 diabetes and curb obesity. Ninety people took part in a UK medical trial which tested the effectiveness of liquid diets, with 30% of them losing 15kg to 20kg.

MOST BIZARRE

According to a study by the University of Missouri, men's testosterone levels drop when they interact with their close friends' partners.
