The body of a baby was found floating in a stream in Diepsloot, Gauteng police said on Saturday.

"The baby was found wrapped in a plastic in a stream between Extension six and seven," Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini said.

It was not clear how the baby ended up in the stream. The child's age was not known.

On Tuesday, the bodies of two-year-old Yonelisa Mali and her cousin Zandile Mali, aged three, were found in a public toilet cubicle in Diepsloot.

Five men have been arrested for the murder and rapes on the two toddlers.

Their case was postponed to Thursday for the men to apply for Legal Aid.

The fifth suspect believed to be the mastermind was expected to appear in court on Monday.
