If the president had no prior knowledge of the Gupta plane debacle, then he is not doing his job ("Zuma claims ignorance of Gupta plane", yesterday).
If he has to farm out the responsibility, and cannot rely on his subordinates, how is he a "leader"? - Adele, by SMS
I enjoy your 10 in Ten and the opinions and letters page, so here is a combination of both: The top 10 reasons Jacob Zuma is not worthy of being our president (in no particular order):
1. Nkandla;
2. The Guptas' power over him;
3. Schabir Shaik;
4. Preventing the public from seeing the spy tapes; 5. Not firing Angie Motshekga;
6. Filling cabinet posts with unqualified but loyal cadres;
7. Marikana and the new mining scandal in Witbank involving his family and the Guptas;
8. The 700-plus corruption charges he has never really answered;9. The secrecy bill; and 10. Letting supporters heckle Helen Zille.
Sadly, this list could go on indefinitely. - Dave Harris, Craighall Park
I am sick of the lies put out by the ANC. Crime stats, Guptagate, etc. Is dishonesty and corruption the order of the day among this band of incompetent thieves? The sooner they are replaced, the better. - Brian C, by SMS
