Rape accused Kwaito musician Sipho Charles Ndlovu appeared briefly in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Prosecutor Kgaogelo Lekoloane requested that the case be postponed for further investigation.

The matter was postponed to January 9 next year.

Ndlovu, known as Brickz in the music industry, was arrested on November 1.

He is accused on raping a 17-year-old girl in March this year.

He was denied bail on November 19 and remains in custody.

On Thursday he appeared in the dock wearing a crisp light blue open collar shirt.

As he left the dock he waved to the public gallery and a number of young women acknowledged this gesture.
