Mandrax tablets with a street value of R250 000 have been found inside a teddy bear at a courier company in Boksburg, Gauteng police said.

A tip-off led police to a box which contained a pair of shoes, a juice box and a teddy bear at the courier company in Boksburg north around 7:40pm on Tuesday, said Lieutenant Juanita Coetzer.

The tablets were packed in 27 transparent plastic bags inside the teddy bear and the juice box.

"Police are on the hunt for the suspect who brought the parcel for couriering," said Coetzer.
