Parliament has not been this exciting since DA MP Dianne Kohler Barnard dropped F-bombs like a gangster in the National Assembly during an opposition party walkout four years ago.

Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, yesterday finally took the troublemaker baton and had many people cringing, and even more chuckling.

What ensued was like a scene out of Mortal Kombat - only with stinging one-liners - that left Thandi Modise, chair of the National Council of Provinces who was presiding over the sitting of parliament, looking like an exasperated primary school teacher.

Malema told President Jacob Zuma: "No one will remember what you said last night, except that we should clean on Mandela Day . "

Read more of what Malema had to say on Page 4.
