A government's primary and inescapable duty is surely to protect its citizens and its territorial sovereignty and security.

We have tolerated the ANC-administered erosion of our economy, national infrastructure, education, justice system and international reputation, but surely we have to draw the line at our ability to defend our borders?

We would be hard-pressed to defend against an invasion or an attack.

Not only is there the unresolved R63-billion corruption-laden arms deal of 2001, but our military is not seen as an essential service.

The unions have destroyed its capabilities to a greater extent than the destruction in the mining sector.

Our only defence in the face of attack would be to infiltrate an invading army and render it inoperable after we surrender, and wait for an outside force to assist us.
