Kaizer Chiefs are confident of getting their man as other options for striker Knowledge Musona remain limited.

Chiefs have first option on the services of the "Silent Assassin" and the club's football manager, Bobby Motaung, told The Times he is confident they will secure the services of the Zimbabwean international for the coming season.

"We are hopeful there will be nothing else that comes in for him and with our first option, we will then be able to agree something at the end of the month.

"We can do a loan or an outright buy. We must still decide about these two options," Motaung added yesterday.

Musona is on the books at Hoffenheim in Germany, but was hoping for another chance to play in Europe.

Hoffenheim are still to decide his future, but look to have only the option of Chiefs on the table as no other bids have been made for the 24-year-old.

Amakhosi's deal has been on the table for some time and Motaung is confident they need only wait until the end of the month before they secure Musona's services.

It then remains to be decided whether they buy him back or loan him again.

Hoffenheim are keen to sell the player at what would presumably be a knockdown price, as the coming season is the last of Musona's four-year contract with the Bundesliga outfit.

Chiefs sold Musona to Hoffenheim for à1.5-million in a massive boon for the South African club.
