R1m prize for SMMEs

Small businesses, which combined are responsible for 70% of employment in the private sector, will tonight compete for a R1-million prize on the Think Big - Building Business Champions TV show.

The new TV series, produced by The Bomb Shelter and supported by Standard Bank, will be screened on SABC3.

It seeks to showcase the vital role small businesses play in the economy.

It is also aimed at promoting growth in small and medium enterprises and encouraging entrepreneurship without glossing over the challenging realities they face.
