Line of beauty

Yves Saint Laurent's new Fusion Ink Foundation claims to use Nasa technology to keep make-up in place. According to YSL, lipophilic actives were first used to capture stellar dust particles in outer space. They are said to keep skin matt for longer by absorbing four times their weight in sebum without creating an uncomfortable or dry sensation. ''It girl" Cara Delevingne is the face of the new make-up that apparently already has a 12000-strong waiting list.

Branded

Max Factor celebrates its centenary this year with the 100 Years of Glamour campaign, fronted by Gwyneth Paltrow dressed as four iconic beauties: Audrey Hepburn from the 1950s, Brigitte Bardot in the 1960s, Farrah Fawcett in the 1970s, and Madonna for the 1980s.

Cleanser

27 Pinkx is a South African company founded by sisters Khatija and Anjum Ahmed, both bloggers, models and make-up artists. Their range of make-up comes in gorgeous colours, but it's their range of perspex make-up organisers that are essential. Great for putting your dressing table in order.

Male polish

Rihanna has revealed a new fragrance for her already vast range of collections, which include Rogue for women, Reb'l Fleur and Nude.

Rogue Man - with the slogan "Push Boundaries, be bold, go rogue"- will be her first fragrance venture in the male market.

The singer tweeted last week: FINALLY!!! #ROGUE for MEN is here September!!!

Beauty how to

Get your mascara application just right. Use a lash curler to open up eyes more. If you have big eyes, use fat wands to apply. If not, aim for a finer applicator. Use a lash primer to help condition, protect and add extra volume and length to lashes. Start your sweep at the base of the lash, tapering off application towards the end. Layer up for more drama. Use a waterproof brand if it looks like rain. Never pump a wand in the tube as it dries out the mascara.
