The "More than a Click" campaign by People Opposing Women Abuse has set tongues wagging - especially since it went pear-shaped for its celebrity ambassadors.

The organisation roped in actress Roxy Burger, comedienne Tumi Morake, model Sonia Booth and former YoTV star Hulisani Ravele to change their relationship statuses on their social media accounts to "single".

The point, according to Powa, was to show that "in today's social-media-obsessed world, ending a relationship seemingly takes just one click" but "unfortunately, in the real world, for survivors of domestic violence, changing their relationship status and breaking free from an abusive partner is difficult and often life-threatening".

When Ravele tweeted a picture saying "Yeah, I'm SINGLE", with the accompanying words "My new relationship status. #nowyouknow #thatsall" all hell broke loose. Blogs and news sites reported: "It's over for Cece and Psyfo!", referring to her partner, music producer Sipho "Psyfo" Ngwenya.

Though many followers were shocked and saddened by the "split", some reacted harshly. An Instagram user commented: "He wasn't serious anyway... can't date this long and not put a ring on it. You deserve better."

Yesterday, Booth, who is married to soccer player Matthew, posted a montage of her wedding day and wrote in the caption: "To those that celebrated the news of our 'divorce', eat your heart out... time to pack for our 1 month holiday, yep, 1 month ."
