Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir's Bedfordview, Johannesburg, home was broken into in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Gauteng police said.

Krejcir's wife, his two sons and one of their girlfriends were home at the time, Colonel Noxolo Kweza said.

"The suspects gained entry into the house by breaking through the kitchen door. They tied up the family with shoelaces and electric cords before ransacking the bedrooms.

"They demanded firearms and cash."

The robbers made off with two guns, three cellphones, cash, computers, and the girlfriend's car.

"They put the eldest son in the bathroom and put a towel over his head and forced the others to lie down in one room," said Kweza.

No shots were fired and no one was injured. No arrests had been made.

Krejcir remained behind bars as he faces a string of charges, including kidnapping and attempted murder. He was arrested in November last year.
