Melbourne, Australia, has taken over from Canada's Vancouver at the top of The Economist Intelligence Unit's annual ranking of the world's most liveable cities.
The criteria include stability, healthcare, culture, environment, education and infrastructure.
The top 10
1. Melbourne
"Caffeine-fuelled, sports-mad and outward looking, [it is] Australia's cool kid - a place obsessed with art, food, coffee and iconic music venues."
2. Vienna
One of only two cities not in Australia or Canada on this list.
