Chelsea crushed Maribor 6-0 in a predictably one-sided Champions League Group G match at Stamford Bridge last night.

Veterans Didier Drogba, with a penalty, and skipper John Terry both scored, as did Loic Remy and Eden Hazard.

Agim Ibraimi missed a Maribor penalty after 64 minutes and Hazard made it 5-0 with Chelsea's second spot kick of the night.

Hazard added a stoppage-time sixth to complete the rout. Chelsea now lead the group with seven points from three matches.

In Moscow, Manchester City let slip a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 CSKA Moscow and now face a massive task to qualify from Group E. City badly needed a win after a defeat to Bayern Munich and a draw with AS Roma, and seemed to be coasting after first-half goals by Sergio Aguero and James Milner.

CSKA got one back via substitute Seydou Doumbia. Bebras Natcho equalised with a spot kick four minutes from time.

In Barcelona, Neymar and Lionel Messi scored a goal apiece as Barcelona swept aside Ajax 3-1 in Group F. Messi laid on the pass from which Neymar hit the opener and then struck himself, midway through the half. Anwar El Ghazi pulled one back for Ajax before Sandro Ramirez settled any late jitters. Barcelona now lie second in Group F behind Paris St Germain.

In Roma, a ruthless Bayern Munich scored five goals in 35 minutes on their way to an astonishing 7-1 demolition of AS Roma.

Arjen Robben scored twice, as did Mario Goetze, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Mueller (penalty) before halftime. Gervinho's goal for Roma was met with further goals from Franck Ribery and Xherdan Shaqiri to give Bayern their biggest-ever away victory in Europe.
