Toddlers stabbed multiple times in Soweto robbery

Two boys, aged three and two, have been stabbed during a robbery in Dobsonville, Soweto, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

"We had an incident last night. There was a house robbery in Dobsonville Extension 3," said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

"During the robbery two kids were stabbed. One was two-years-old. He was stabbed three times on his head, and the other child, three-years-old, he was stabbed eight times on his body."

The children were taken to hospital for treatment, though further information on their condition was not available on Wednesday morning.

The robbers stole electrical appliances from the house where the children were.

The robbery happened around midnight on Tuesday, with two robbers believed to be involved, Makhubela said.

No arrests had been made.

Police were investigating a case of house robbery and attempted murder.

Anyone with information on the robbery was urged to contact police.
