Ireland's police are investigating the violent death of two South Africans in the rural Co Clare town of Kildysart last night.

Angelique (27) and Cornelius Belling (44) both died of stab wounds within moments of each other, wounds they inflicted upon each other in front of their young children according to The South African.

“At the moment this is likely to be a case of the couple stabbing each other. This would appear to be a domestic that went drastically out of hand,” a source told the news vendor.

Their two young children were carried out of the house wrapped in blankets.

The Irish independent reports that the Gardai confirmed that they aren't seeking a third party.

According to that report Mrs Belling staggered from the building with one of her children, collapsing in front of a police officer.

The child ran back into the building as the officer tended to the dying woman.

Police chased after the child only to find Mr Belling, who had also been stabbed, in the hallway. Both parents died on the scene.
