The West Indies won the battle against SA at St George's Park, but David Miller won the war.

With the series already owned by SA, the Windies won yesterday's thrilling contest by one wicket. A batting line-up without Hashim Amla was limited to 262/8.

An attack missing Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander and Imran Tahir conceded defeat with nine balls left. André Russell won the match with an unbeaten 64 off 40 balls.

But what should matter was Miller's maiden ODI century, a measured 130 not out. Despite SA's dominance in this series questions remained about the middle order. Miller provided the closest thing to an answer yesterday.

So SA lost. So what? Sometimes, answered questions mean more than winning.
