South African-born director Neill Blomkamp caused a fanboy online heart murmur when he released sketches he'd done for a possible Alien film.
Apparently the idea started when Blomkamp was working with Alien star Sigourney Weaver on his last film, Chappie, which releases next month.
In a recent interview Blomkamp said that what was just a hypothetical idea might soon become a reality, thanks to the enthusiasm his sketches received on the net. He has a story and is certain that, were he to walk into Fox's offices tomorrow, he'd get the go-ahead, so it's really just a question of whether he will or not.
James Bond fans can get a very early appetite whetting thanks to the just released behind-the-scenes featurette of the next film in the franchise.
Directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Spectre is currently shooting in the mountains of Austria. You can watch the two-minute clip on YouTube but you'll have to wait until November to see the film.
Not a fan of expensive Valentine's Day dinners? Couldn't get a ticket to see that film about the guy with a colour for a surname? If so, get to The Bioscope tomorrow night for the Valentine's Day screening of the 1990s cult classic True Romance. Visit www.the-bioscope.co.za for more.

Worth watching, for the sake of Julianne Moore. She has always compounded sweetness with steel, and both are brandished here (as a woman suffering from Alzheimer's).

Vaughn's spy spoof is an energetic affair reminiscent of late-period Roger Moore Bond. It's full of self-parodic references to everything from Austin Powers and Tarantino to John le Carré.
