Never mind the wolf, a lion's at the door

Curiosity didn't kill this cat, but it did make him open a car door full of petrified American tourists.

The young male lion has become a Youtube sensation after being caught on video opening the door.

The video was shot in an undisclosed lion park in South Africa.

The caption with the video reads: "My sisters were visiting our parents ... and had an experience of a lifetime."

The video shows the lion coming up to the back of the car, then opening the door with its mouth. The camera suddenly swings around the interior of the car and screams are heard.

The door is quickly closed and someone says: "Oh my gosh I didn't know they could do that."

They can do it, according to lion expert Kevin Richardson.

"What you have is a curious young male habituated lion and you have a tempting piece of plastic," said Richardson. "They don't have fingers, so they explore with teeth and claws."
