Hollywood heartthrob Boris Kodjoe is the latest international celebrity to choose the Mother City for his family holiday.

The 42-year-old, famous for his role in US drama series Soul Food and movie Madea's Family Reunion is in Cape Town with his wife and two children. On Sunday, his birthday, he tweeted: "Hallo Africa. Good to be back."

He has been keeping a low profile, but hinted he would be going "shark diving" and on a "safari" with his children.

He tweeted yesterday: "Green Point this morning when I went for my run. Most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen. This place is true magic. Two oceans, mountains, beaches, forest, desert, wine country, and amazing people. I love South Africa."

Since December, Cape Town has played host to several international celebrities including E! presenter Ryan Seacrest, Shameless star Zach McGowan, who is shooting Black Sails, and Sir Richard Branson.

Last month, Irish band The Script shot the video for their hit single Man on the Wire in the city. In the video, lead singer Danny O'Donoghue is seen on a tightrope between two buildings on Adderley Street.

In an interview with the British Metro, O'Donoghue said: "It was so scary, everyone tells you not to look down but as soon as I stepped off I looked down. You can't not look down. It doesn't get any easier either, the wire is two inches in diameter and every step feels like the first step."
