A police colonel charged with theft and robbery after stolen cars were allegedly found in his yard has to wait longer for his day in court. On Wednesday‚ the Protea Magistrate's Court in Soweto once again postponed the case against Colonel Prince Derby‚ 47.This time the delay in the case‚ which has seen at least five postponements since February‚ was because the results of DNA tests done on body fluid found in the cars were not yet available.Derby was arrested after the police's flying squad‚ on a routine patrol in Eldorado Park‚ south of Johannesburg‚ followed the signal of a stolen car and were led to Derby's yard. They allegedly found two more cars when they went in to investigate.Derby is accused of stealing a Volkswagen Golf‚ a Volkswagen Polo and a third unnamed car.He handed himself over to the Hillbrow police in February after allegedly being on the run for a few days.Derby is currently out R5‚000 bail and will appear again next month.- RDM News Wire, TMG Courts and Law..
