Soft Power: The Bubblegum Club wants to plug you in

Jamal Nxedlana is a fashion designer who is launching Bubblegum Club Nights this weekend. It is the first event curated by the Bubblegum Club, a newly established group of cultural practitioners who, through analysis and design, are plugging brands and organisations into Johannesburg's youth culture.Rea Khoabane spoke to him.What is the style philosophy of your label Missshape?It is about using fashion as a medium - a vehicle for exploration of the body and its environment.What can people expect this weekend?There'll be an MS3 pop-up shop, a presentation of the Missshape x Danielle Wepener SS15/16 collection, the first issue of Post Print zine produced by Vatic Studio, zines and paintings by Mandisi Lean and live performances by FAKA, Trash Godd and Dr Dj Spizee.Is Bubblegum Club Nights going to be a regular event?Bubblegum Club Nights is an ongoing project, one which will happen when we have something to say...
