Tablets to aid health of schools

22 July 2015 - 02:02 By Miyelani Hlungwani, Mukhomi Village

What a marvellous move by the Gauteng education department to extend its learning technology to matric classrooms at 375 high schools. The " paperless classroom", making use of tablets, will enable easy access to information and will probably lead to a huge improvement in matric results. This kind of initiative should be implemented in other provinces, especially Limpopo and Eastern Cape, which have under-qualified teachers.Big up to Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi. Leaders who emphasise education deserve support. As Nelson Mandela stated: "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world."One thing, though: authorities must act sternly against those who try to steal the tablets. ..
