The ANC in North West has given mayoral committees until next week to verify the qualifications of all senior managers in the 23 municipalities in the province. ANC provincial secretary Dakota Legoete said yesterday underqualified officials would have to be removed."It is the decision of the ANC that all municipalities should comply with the law. We mean business. People who were appointed without adequate qualifications cannot remain in the system," he said.Poor service delivery was sometimes a result of officials' lack of capacity, said Legoete.Poor quality and shortages of water continue to plague the province. Last year, three children died after consuming contaminated water, and most of the municipalities have hired water tanks because of shortages...
