Police launch manhunt for killers of taxi owner and daughter

North West police have launched a manhunt for the killers of a taxi owner and his daughter who were gunned down in their home in Magogwe Tar Village near Mmabatho on Friday. Police spokesman Major Pelonomi Makau said three suspects had entered the house and shot the 64-year-old man in the head and back before shooting his 24-year-old daughter in the back.The man’s 14-year-old niece who also in the house at the time was not harmed and managed to call the neighbours for help.“It is alleged that the suspects took five cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash from the victims before fleeing the scene. The motive of the murder is still unknown at this stage and investigation into the matter continues‚” Maj Makau said‚ adding that no arrests had been made yet.North West Acting Provincial Commissioner Major-General Jacob Tsumane expressed shock and condemnation over the attack.“We are saddened by this senseless killing and we will work hard to ensure that those who are responsible are brought to book‚ " he said...
