Eddie is ready for Stormers

On Saturday, South Africa failed spectacularly to keep up with the Joneses, and lost their first Rugby World Cup fixture to Japan. Fortunately, the Jones in question - Eddie, the Brave Blossoms coach - will be switching sides after the tournament, with confirmation yesterday that he will take charge of the Stormers next season.With a degree of understatement, Stormers director of rugby Gert Smal pointed out that Jones had made a "significant impact" on Japan's World Cup performance."Eddie was always on my mind in terms of potential external candidates and it's a massive coup that we have signed a coach of his ability."Jones replaces Allister Coetzee, who has left for Japanese side Kobe Steel after six seasons in charge of the Stormers.The 55-year-old Jones, who will arrive in Cape Town as soon as possible after the World Cup, coached Australia to the 2003 World Cup final and was a technical adviser to South Africa when they won the tournament in 2007. He won Super Rugby with the Brumbies in 2001."I am well aware of the responsibilities that come with this job, one of the biggest franchise jobs in world rugby, but I am also excited about the talent available in the Stormers squad," he said...
