Four men dressed in what appeared to be police tracksuits, hit the Spur Steak Ranch at Howard Centre on Friday morning.

Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed a business robbery took place at the Pinelands shopping centre at 08:30.

"Four unidentified suspects dressed in SAPS tracksuits tops pretended to be SAPS members and [asked] to speak to the manager in a restaurant," she said.

"The suspects threatened the victims with firearms and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money."

No-one was injured during the robbery.

Restaurant manager Peter Francis told News24 it is understood that a fifth suspect had been waiting outside during the heist.

"We had not opened for the day yet, so luckily no customers had been here," he said.

Trauma counsellors had been arranged for the staff, Francis added.

A case of business robbery is being investigated and no arrests have yet been made.
