Sun International PE staff protest 'delayed' salary increase

Sun International employees at The Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Port Elizabeth on Friday marched in protest over a wage increase they say should have come into effect in July. About 150 employees gathered at Kings Beach parking lot today and marched to the Boardwalk to deliver a memorandum to Sun International management.Employees are fighting for a 8% increase – down from 11% - while management is offering 7%.Staff are also protesting against what they say are discriminatory increases‚ where employees in the food and beverage unit have been excluded from the pay rise. - The Herald..
