U-17 lads 'ready for PSL taste'

National Under-17 captain Nelson Maluleke urged Absa Premiership coaches yesterday to give the youngsters in the Amajimbos team a chance to prove themselves in top-flight football. Platinum Stars midfielder Kobamelo Kodisang is the only player in the squad that has made a PSL appearance, in August, two days before his 16th birthday.Maluleke, 17, says despite getting knocked out in the first round of the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile, Amajimbos' players gained a lot of experience."My chance will come. I believe I can make it in the PSL," Maluleke said when Amajimbos returned from Chile yesterday."PSL coaches should give us a chance. We worked hard to get to the World Cup."But Maluleke admits his performances in Chile, where the team finished bottom of Group E with one point, were below par."Honestly, it was not my tournament. Everyone is saying I did not perform the way I usually perform. I don't know why."Maybe the players I faced were more mature," he said...
