Wizkid pays fans an expensive compliment

Cash is the way to a concert-goer's heart according to Nigeria's Wizkid, who appeared at the inaugural Africa Music Concert this weekend at Nasrec, Johannesburg. Despite a lineup dominated by South African hip-hop artists and Nigeria's finest, it was Wizkid who stole the show when he threw close to R50000 in bank notes into the audience.But, even though fans got some spending money at a time of the month when most are cash-strapped, it was South African Nomuzi Mabena who made them drool.The Skhanda Queen, inspired by Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé, sang Don't Panic in a black leotard and purple jacket.But she wasn't the only one who got people talking. Host Pearl Thusi also caused a stir with a red tribal-print dress strikingly similar to an ensemble Mzansi's it-girl, Bonang Matheba, wore earlier this year. (See above.)The sound engineers at the concert, at which 24 artists from across Africa performed, were guilty of some basic technical errors.The sound balance was poor, which resulted in fans being unable to hear some artists.Luckily those issues had been sorted by the time hip-hop heavyweights such as Davido, AKA, Uhuru, Wizkid, Cash Time Family, and Cassper Nyovest performed...
