'Generations The Legacy' star actress Manaka Ranaka knocked down and killed a teenage schoolgirl in a car crash near the N3 highway to Durban on Friday.

The incident, according to a Sowetan front page story on Tuesday, happened on the R554 road to Leondale near the highway in Roodekop.

As reported by the newspaper, 18-year-old Millicent Mbonani from Phumula section on the East Rand was crossing the highway on foot on her way to visiting a friend in Roodekop when Ranaka crashed into her with her BMW.

The Leondale High School grade 12 pupil was confirmed dead at the scene by emergency services, according to the Sowetan.

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services confirmed the incident and said each incident involving a fatality is referred to the SAPS for further investigation.

Ranaka referred the newspaper’s queries to the Alberton police, who would also not comment.

The actress portrays ex-convict and drug dealer Lucy in the popular SABC1 soapie.
