Answer lies in industry, says Davies

The country's economic future lies in manufacturing, according to Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies. He made the remark at a media briefing on the government's black industrialist policy, which was announced earlier this year.The policy is a key part of plans to expand the country's industrial base and supply bolder interventions through support to black industrialists."My advice (to aspiring black industrialists) would be simple. If you want to become an empowered businessman in South Africa, the future of this economy is in manufacturing."You must be willing to take the risk ," said Davies.The minister said black industrialists had to be "real entrepreneurs" in the economy."You've got to have real risk, be seriously involved, either as a startup or as a going concern.
