The Times spoke to Slikour, a former member of Skwatta Kamp, about the future of hip-hop in South Africa. He said: "Last year we had a balance of house and hip-hop doing well but in the news hip- hop dominated."I think we could see great things from Nasty C and Emtee - but it's Riky Rick who could have an even bigger year and I think we will see more of Durban reigning in the hip-hop side of things."Riky Rick, aka Rikhado Makhado, is also an actor, writer, producer and composer. Having released his debut album Family Values, in April, the Boss Zonke rapper also nabbed a spot on GQ's top 50 best-dressed men.Nasty C, real name David Junior Ngcobo, is proof that in the entertainment industry it's all about the alliances you make. The 18-year-old artist featured two of the continent's biggest rappers, Nigeria's Davido and South Africa's Cassper Nyovest, when he dropped the remix to his track Juice Back. Slikour dubbed the Durbanite as the "hottest underdog".Emtee Da Hustler, real name Mthembeni Ndevu, dropped his hit song Roll Up late last year Since then he has promised fans a few more singles before releasing an album...
