Dressed human skeleton found by construction workers along Free State N1

A human skeleton dressed in black All Stars takkies and a pair of blue jeans was found next to the N1 near Verkeerdevlei in the Free State, police said on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Ikobeng Hlubi said the skeleton was discovered by construction workers among bushes on Friday afternoon.  

No identification was found.  

"At this stage it is unknown for how long the deceased was lying next to the road. The laboratory results is awaited which will determine the estimated date of death,” she said.  

Hlubi urged the community to assist with any information that could assist them in tracing the relatives of the man.
