Rapist pleads guilty‚ convicted and sentenced on the same day

An Eastern Cape rapist who was apprehended by members of the community was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the Tsomo Regional Court on Monday. His victim – whom Samkelo Tshayisa attacked while she was walking alone on May 24‚ 2015‚ in Dudumashe Village – was 75.“He grabbed her from behind‚ strangled her and raped the old woman‚” police said in a statement.“The accused was chased by the community and arrested.
