Umhlanga homeowner robbed during daily prayers, pistol-whipped

A resident of Umhlanga Rocks was pistol-whipped by robbers‚ who had accosted her while she was conducting her daily prayer outside her home‚ a local security company said. Reaction Unit South Africa said it received a call from a member of public reporting a house robbery in progress on Trema Road in Umhlanga Rocks at approximately 9.40am. Police were already on the scene but the robbers had escaped."It is alleged that five armed suspects accosted a 55-year-old female who was conducting her daily prayer outside her home. The victim was forced into the house were her daughter and domestic worker were held at gun point. The suspects insisted on knowing the location of the safe. After informing them that there was no cash in the house‚ one suspect pistol-whipped the elderly female and scratched her on her face‚" Reaction Unit SA said.The robbers‚ who were in a Grey VW Caddy‚ got away with a 48 inch LG TV‚ an iPhone 5s‚ a gold Fossil watch and a gold ring.The homeowner was treated on the scene...
