About 200 protesting taxi drivers closed the intersection of Koeberg and Freedom Way with burning tires on Tuesday morning causing minor traffic delays. “They are apparently striking about MyCiti bus routes. There is no threat to the public at the moment as we have closed off the road quite a distance from the strike‚” said Cape Town Traffic spokesperson Richard Coleman.“We have SAPS and metro police on scene and traffic police on stand-by in case we have to close off the road further‚ said Coleman adding that there had been no reports of violence as yet. - TMG Digital/The Times..
