Five Wits students served with suspension orders after #FeesMustFall protests

Lectures and other activities are under way without disruption on all campuses at Wits University on Tuesday after about 150 protesters disrupted lectures and started a fire in an empty lecture theatre on its Braamfontein campus on Monday.The University said in a statement it issued three suspension orders on Monday‚ with two more orders to be issued later today."All non-Wits members who were involved in unlawful activities yesterday and who could be identified have been barred from our campuses."Strict access controls are in place and students and staff are required to produce their cards when entering the University. Visitors will have to sign in via security.#NotMyFMF - sjamboks and muscles in Wits gender showdown"Additional security has been brought onto campus‚ and will remain in place until management decides otherwise. The South African Police Service (SAPS) is also on standby."Wits said the police have been asked to investigate who was responsible for yesterday's arson attack...
