The Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu Van Furth is back at her desk as executive director of the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation‚ after an investigation initiated by the board after her December wedding. Her leadership was brought into question after her marriage to a Dutch professor‚ Marceline van Furth‚ who heads an Amsterdam university medical centre linked to the Desmond and Leah foundation.The Board of the foundation suspended her while it investigated its systems of accountability to prevent any accusation of a potential conflict of interest.On Tuesday‚ the board said in a statement it has "concluded its audit of the institution's administrative and governance systems and ordered its Executive Director‚ the Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu Van Furth‚ back to work"."In January‚ as a precautionary measure‚ the Board asked the Reverend Canon Tutu to step aside (the Executive Director also serves on the Board).
