The Islamic State has employed a wheelchair-bound executioner to terrorise residents in Libya, a human rights report revealed yesterday.

The executioner may have been chosen as part of a crude attempt to show IS is an “equal opportunities” organisation.

An account of how he executed a man in Sirte is given in a new report by Human Rights Watch.

A Sirte resident told the NGO how a relative named Milad Ahmed Abourgheba was killed by the disabled executioner.

Photos show the wheelchair bound man in fatigues and a black balaclava next to Abourgheba, wearing an orange jumpsuit, and tied up.

The NGO said it was unclear why IS had used a disabled man in the picture but did not rule out “equal opportunities” messaging.
