Criminals dig under 80-year-old farmer's electric fence, attack him with panga

A group of farm attackers dug under an electric fence with a spade to gain access to a farmhouse where an elderly couple were asleep. The farmer‚ who is 80 years old‚ is now in ICU after they attacked him with a machete. Reaction Unit South Africa said the attack occurred in Esnembe‚ KwaZulu-Natal‚ just after 3am on Sunday."Reaction officers found an 80-year-old man bleeding extensively from wounds he had sustained during the robbery."Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and stabilised the elderly man‚ who suffered several open wounds to his body‚ before transporting him to hospital."Reaction Unit said there were three suspects‚ who dug under an electric fence with a spade to gain entry to the property. They then forced their way into the house were the elderly couple were asleep."The victim was woken after he heard noises in the home. He reached for his firearm and as he exited his bedroom‚ he was accosted by the suspects who attacked him with a panga. The suspects stole the victim's firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction."Reaction Officers searched the area for the suspects‚ but no arrests were made.The farmer is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at a hospital on the North Coast‚ Reaction Unit said...
