It's a scandal! Chips and a roll now cost more than a quarter chicken

The price of a portion of large chips and rolls at major food outlets such as Nando's‚ Wimpy and Spur is becoming more than the price of a quarter chicken.Nando's sharing chips or wedges are priced at R34‚90‚ which will cost you R44,80 if you add a roll for your lunch.This is R4‚90 more than the price of a quarter chicken order‚ which goes for R39‚90 at the same restaurant.If you decide to have your meal at Spur‚ you will pay R33,80 for the same order of large chips and a roll (R26‚90 plus R6‚90).The same order will cost you R31‚90 at Wimpy for large chips at R24‚90 and a bun for R7‚00.Steers large chips are R25‚90 while plain buns cost R5‚90‚ for a total of R31,80.Patrons across the country have been feeling the pinch and are shocked by these prices.Ronica Inarman posted on Facebook: "In my opinion this portion of large chips for R34,90 is a rip off!"Percivale Young quipped:I want #Nandos to make some jokes about how small their chickens are, the small portions of chips they give and how expensive their food are— Percivale Young (@Percyoung) July 8, 2016 "Steers chips are so small‚ they should just start advertising like 'get a burger and 5 chips at R39‚99'‚" said Emmanuel Mpositoli Lushaba.Other users feel plain robbed. Jasveer Morar shared: "Dear Nando's. I have always been a fan of your jokes‚ great food and hearty portions. But after going ordering chips yesterday I felt that the joke was on me. After ordering a large chips and being told it was R34.90…"  ..
