Alleged Cop killer arrested in Durban

A joint operation by the members of the Hawks‚ Crime Intelligence and Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a man who has been positively linked to the slaying of a Kwazulu-Natal police officer in November 2015. Kwazulu-Natal police said the 33-year-old suspect‚ who was arrested in Morningside in Durban on Wednesday night‚ was one of the province’s most wanted and dangerous suspects.He was wanted for a series of cases.Police spokesman Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo said the man was found in possession of an AK47 assault rifle with three magazines and 93 live rounds of ammunition‚ as well as a 9mm pistol and one .38 special.“The man has been positively linked to the murder of a 51-year-old police officer at Gingindlovu in November 2015‚” Mhlongo said.“He will also be charged for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The recovered firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to ascertain if they were used in the commission of crime in the country.’The suspect will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday‚ Mhlongo added...
