Teen arrested after telling cops he robbed Khayelitsha spaza shop

He should have been at school but was roaming the streets instead‚ carrying a gun and a guilty conscience. A 17-year-old male and two companions scattered in different directions when they spotted a police patrol in Khayelitsha‚ Cape Town‚ on Wednesday.When he was caught‚ the teenager was found in possession of a Norinco pistol with the serial number filed off and eight rounds of ammunition.“Upon further questioning‚ the suspect revealed that they had just committed a business robbery at a fruit and veg spaza in the same road where they took cash‚” said police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk.“A case of business robbery was registered … and the suspect was positively identified by the complainant‚” he said.The teen was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm and a business robbery. He will appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court. ..
