Packed roster punishes Downs - Pitso

Mamelodi Sundowns' punishing programme is taking its toll on their free-flowing football, admitted coach Pitso Mosimane ahead of tomorrow's MTN8 final against Bidvest Wits at Mbombela Stadium. Downs have played through their off-season thanks to their participation in the Caf Champions League. In the past six weeks the Pretoria team have almost miraculously juggled the league, and progressed past Zesco United in the Champions League and Chippa United in the MTN8."Today was our second day training after the second leg against Zesco, because we took three days' break to recover," Mosimane said yesterday."It's very rare we can find five days in between a game. The challenge is that for the last four or five games we've played we've come up against rested teams. We are struggling a little bit now. We're no longer free-flowing and showing the real Sundowns."We're playing a very strong team in Wits. I don't remember the last time they played. But it's not an excuse. The good thing about this game is we have numbers back and available."Yannick Zakri, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Thapelo Morena and Ricardo Nascimento are all available."Siyanda Zwane is back from injury. So we have about five players to strengthen the team," he said. - TMG Sport..
