The Springboks had insult added to injury with the news that lock Lood de Jager was cited for foul play following Saturday's 57-15 defeat against the All Blacks at King's Park. De Jager is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (h), which states: "A player must not charge into a ruck or maul. Charging includes any contact made without use of the arms, or without grasping a player."De Jager's shoulder made contact with a New Zealand player's head.Referee Jerome Garces gave a yellow card for the incident, which occurred in the 72nd minute.Upon further review of the match footage, the citing commissioner deemed the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play. While De Jager was off the field, the All Blacks added three tries to the six they had already scored as they wracked up a record score against the Springboks. The citing is to be considered in the first instance by Sanzaar duty judicial officer Adam Casselden. All disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a duty judicial officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process. For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the duty judicial officer. There was no indication of how De Jager would plead. - TMG Digital..
