Henri van Breda will have to divide his time between two courts when his murder trial begins next year. He is to go on trial in the Cape Town High Court on February 6 charged with the gruesome axe murders of his parents and brother last year. But yesterday he appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on drugs charges, alongside his girlfriend, Danielle Janse van Rensburg. The couple was arrested in the suburb of Table View last month for possession of dagga. The court heard that Janse van Rensburg is to be assessed by the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders, a non-profit organisation that provides community service opportunities to convicted offenders. The magistrate's court trial was postponed to April 11 pending the outcomes of the evaluation.Outside court, Van Breda's lawyer, Lorinda van Niekerk, said only Janse van Rensburg was required to undergo the assessment and that the court would take "a further decision" based on its result. At the time of their arrest, Van Niekerk told the Sunday Times: "[Van Breda's] girlfriend has admitted in court that the dagga belonged to her. Henri maintains that he is not guilty of the [dagga] charge."..
