SAY CHEESE: Scientists have finally proved what every wine lover already knows - cheese makes wine taste better. Scientists from the Centre for Taste and Feeding Behaviour in Dijon, France, had 31 expert tasters test two kinds of white and two kinds of red wine with four cheeses. In most cases the tasters said the wines tasted better after eating cheese, but if it didn't make it taste better, it didn't have a negative effect. Earlier research indicated that after tannin-heavy wine dried out the mouth, the fat in cheese acted as a lubricant, improving the overall taste of the wine.LIVER LONGERVitamins can do as much harm as good, especially to the liver. Researchers, using data from the US Drug-Induced Liver Injury Network, showed that 20% of cases of chemical-induced liver damage were due to herbal and dietary supplements. Anabolic steroids were the cause of over a third of the cases, but non-steroid supplements that harmed the liver included green tea extract and dietary supplements from, for example, Herbalife, Slimquick and Hydroxycut.AG SHAME Cute food is trending in Hong Kong.
