Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has told President Jacob Zuma that the report on state capture prepared by her predecessor, Thuli Madonsela, is in its final form, dimming his hopes of being able to add to it as he battles pressure from within the ANC to resign. Zuma filed an affidavit on Tuesday in which he asked whether the report were final, and if he would be able to question those who had contributed evidence in its preparation. He said he wanted to respond to accusations that he allowed members of the Gupta family to interfere in state affairs. The Gupta brothers are the subject of a report on allegations that they influenced the appointments of ministers and used their political connections to win contracts.Zuma denies any impropriety, as do the Guptas."The public protector has the president's latest affidavit and has . confirmed that the report was finalised and signed by Madonsela on 14 October 2016," Mkhwebane's spokesman said.Zuma delayed the report's release by asking a court to take into consideration that he had not had the opportunity to review the evidence on which it was based. The hearing is set down for Tuesday. ..
