Music changes the way food tastes, chocolate should only be eaten with the eyes closed, playing a syncopated jazz rhythm to salmon while it's smoking makes it more delicious, eating desserts from our childhoods invoke nostalgic memories. Over the years at Spier's annual Secret Food Festival, speakers from around the world have delighted audiences with weird and wonderful theories about food. Last year the festival went interactive - participants tasted insect cookies or sampled flavours while listening to music.
